TL;DW: Sing a note, slightly move toward vocal fry while staying on the same note, boom – SUBHARMONIC.
In this video, I will show you how subharmonics work without getting too technical. Keep in mind that this is technique is easy to obtain, but hard to perfect. If you need more information, just head on over to my blog in the link above.

I have tried for a few days to get this to work, and I just can’t get my original note and the fry to morph into the subharmonic note.
Hi Aidan! A lot of the videos that try to teach people how to sing subharmonics leave a couple of tips out. The first being, practice right after you wake up! Since your true and false vocal cords haven’t been used in a few hours, they are much more relaxed and it should be easier to slip into the subharmonic. And try sliding from your falsetto range into your chest range. There is a chance that you could accidentally slip into a subharmonic. I also find that recording yourselfd practicing and listening back tends to help. And as a final tip make sure it’s been at least an hour since you’ve eaten or drank anything. But if your voice or throat starts to feel sore or tired, take a break and a few sips of water and try again later. You’ll get it eventually.
